How Dog Adoption Works at Santa Cruz SPCA
Our Dog Adoption Process
Adopting a dog or puppy from Santa Cruz SPCA is designed to be straightforward and supportive:
- Browse Adoptable Dogs and Puppies
View our current adoptable dogs and puppies online to learn more about their personalities, needs, and backgrounds. - Submit an Adopter’s Profile
Complete the Adopter’s Profile to share information about your home, lifestyle, and preferences. This helps our adoption team guide you toward a suitable match. - Connect With Our Adoption Team
A member of our team will contact you to discuss your interests, answer questions, and provide additional information about available dogs. - Meet Dogs in Person
Visit our shelter during browsing hours to meet dogs and puppies in person and speak with our knowledgeable dog adoption staff. - Finalize Your Adoption
Once a match is made, our team will guide you through the adoption paperwork and next steps so you can welcome your new dog home.
