Understanding DAFs
What Is a Donor Advised Fund?
A donor advised fund is a charitable savings account that gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to the Santa Cruz SPCA.
You receive an immediate tax deduction when you contribute to your DAF. Then, over time, you recommend grants to the causes you care about — including the animals in our care.
If you are a client of BNY Mellon, Fidelity Charitable, or Schwab Charitable, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to the Santa Cruz SPCA directly from your fund.
Benefits of Giving Through a DAF
- Receive an immediate tax deduction when you contribute
- Recommend grants on your own timeline
- Support multiple causes from a single account
- Simplify your charitable recordkeeping
- Potential to grow your charitable dollars through investments
