Santa Cruz SPCA Poster Contest 2017

Each year, the SPCA holds an annual poster contest in honor of “Be Kind to Animals Week”, which is recognized as the first full week in May.

The Santa Cruz SPCA would like to thank all students who entered this year for their beautiful and unique posters and their personal artistic interpretation of the theme, “Think Pawsitive, Be Pawsitive”.  We received 225 posters from all over the county.  A group of volunteers and employees for the SPCA acted as the judges for this contest.  Below is a list of this year’s winners.

There will be an awards ceremony on Wednesday May 3rd at 6pm in the upstairs meeting room of the Downtown Santa Cruz Library.  Posters will be on display through May in the Children’s Section of the downtown Santa Cruz library(Mid and North County entries) as well as the Freedom Branch library (South County Entries) in Watsonville on the corner of Freedom and Airport.  Unfortunately, due to the number of entries, only some may be on display.  However, if you are interested in getting your posters back, please contact the education department at 831-566-3753 or e-mail us at brenna@spcasc.org.  Again thank you to all the children who participated, you did an excellent job!!
