On July 19th, in partnership with Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital, the Santa Cruz SPCA (SCSPCA) will host Dr. Jean’s Senior Friends Fund Wellness Day, a day of free preventative veterinary care for cats and dogs owned by local seniors.
From 1:00pm to 5:00pm, by appointment only, a licensed veterinarian will provide basic exams, vaccinations, flea & tick treatment and microchipping. The event will take place at Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital at 2701 Chanticleer Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95065.
The Wellness Day is supported by the SCSPCA’s Dr. Jean’s Senior Friends Fund, which is designed to make funds for veterinary care available to senior citizens who would otherwise have to give up their companion animal or would be unable to provide medical care when it is needed. The expense of veterinary care can be a burden to elderly people who are living on restricted retirement incomes, and this event is just one way the SCSPCA can help lighten the financial load and help keep pets healthy!
Who Qualifies? Senior pet guardians, age 62 and over, who are on a fixed or low income and live in Santa Cruz County.
How to make an appointment for Wellness Day? Call the Santa Cruz SPCA at 831-465-5000 x 21 to make an appointment for the day. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-in clients. All appointments must be made through the Santa Cruz SPCA (not Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital).
The Santa Cruz SPCA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals. We receive no government funding, and depend solely on financial support from our friends. Our organization is not affiliated with any other SPCA or Humane Society.
